Meet the All-New Fully Electric Jeep Recon
Jeep is charging into a new era of adventure—literally. With the debut of the all-new, all-electric 2026 Jeep® Recon, the brand introduces the first and only fully electric Trail Rated SUV, proving that electrification and rugged capability can coexist without compromise. Built from the ground up for off-road exploration, the Recon blends Jeep heritage with cutting-edge electric innovation to deliver an entirely new kind of adventure vehicle.
Electric Power, Legendary Capability
The 2026 Jeep Recon isn’t just another EV—it’s a purpose-built electric 4×4 engineered to conquer everything from downtown streets to remote wilderness trails. Its 650 horsepower and 620 lb.-ft. of instant torque transform every touch of the throttle into precise, controlled power. On the road, it launches from 0–60 mph in as quick as 3.6 seconds. Off the road, that instant torque becomes a confidence-inspiring tool for technical terrain.
A targeted 250-mile all-electric range (depending on trim) keeps adventures going, while a pair of Stellantis-designed electric drive modules—one in the front, one in the rear—deliver standard electric 4×4 capability. The Moab trim takes things further, with a 15:1 final drive ratio for maximum torque multiplication during demanding climbs or low-speed maneuvers.
Like every Trail Rated Jeep, the Recon is built to handle the tough stuff. With 9.1 inches of ground clearance, up to 33.8° approach, 33.1° departure, and a 23.3° breakover angle, it’s engineered for real-world, real-trail performance. Standard features like the Selec-Terrain traction management system (with five drive modes, including a dedicated Rock mode for the Moab trim), Selec-Speed Control, and an electronic locking rear differential ensure capability remains at the core of this electrified machine.
Design: Heritage Meets High Voltage
From the moment you see it, the Recon is unmistakably Jeep. A bold, upright stance, illuminated seven-slot grille rings, and U-shaped daytime running lights signal modern capability built on iconic roots. Jeep emphasizes visibility with expansive glass and highlights premium craftsmanship with Gloss Black accents across the roof, pillars, and window trim.
But the biggest design statement is one Jeep fans will love: open-air freedom. The Recon is the only fully electric SUV with removable doors, swing gate glass, and rear quarter glass—no tools required. Whether you’re cruising down the highway or crawling up a rocky ridge, you get the pure Jeep experience of sky, wind, and wide-open adventure.
The first trim to launch, the rugged Moab, amps up the attitude with wide wheel flares, available rock rails, unique Jeep topographic badging, and an anti-glare hood graphic that reinforces its trail-first ethos.
And because personality matters, the Recon will offer a rotating palette of expressive exterior colors—some bold and bright, others natural and rugged—to reflect every type of explorer.
Interior: Rugged, Refined, and Ready for Adventure
Inside, the Recon strikes a smart balance between durability and premium comfort. The cabin’s horizontal dash design is anchored by a signature passenger grab handle, and scuff-resistant materials reinforce its off-road swagger. A modular accessory rail lets you mount cameras, navigational gear—or even a duck holder, nodding to the beloved “Jeep ducking” tradition.
Storage solutions are clever and customizable:
- A two-tiered pass-through center console with optional wireless charging
- Modular door panels with removable elastic straps
- Interchangeable cargo modules
- 65.9 cubic feet of rear cargo space (with the second row folded)
- A 3.0 cu. ft. front trunk sized to fit a carry-on suitcase
Sustainability plays a major role, too. Recycled materials appear across seats, door panels, console surfaces, headliner, and carpets. The Capri synthetic material finishes add refinement without compromising durability, while trims like Iron Grey Metallic and Quicksand deco give the cabin a distinctly modern look.
The Moab trim introduces a standout Joshua Tree tan interior, inspired directly by the iconic national park—earthy, rugged, and sophisticated.
Jeep even rethought audio for the open-air experience. A premium Alpine sound system comes standard, with speakers moved from doors to under-seat locations so your music stays crisp even when the doors are off.
Technology: Smarter, Bigger, and More Immersive
The 2026 Jeep Recon’s tech suite is as impressive as its capability. Space for screens dominates the dash, offering more than 26 inches of high-definition digital display area. A bold 12.3-inch driver cluster pairs with a massive 14.5-inch center touchscreen, the largest single-pane digital display ever installed in a Jeep.
Powered by Uconnect 5, the interface is designed for clarity, customization, and ease of use—including integrated digital HVAC controls and physical knobs where they matter most. Larger maps, sharper cameras, and smarter software make the systems both practical and intuitive.
Off-roaders get an extra treat: the Jeep-exclusive Trails Offroad app with pitch and roll data, trail guides across North America, and integrated BEV pages for monitoring battery performance on the trail.
Add Amazon Alexa capability, improved remote app features, real-time safety and recall notifications, and Dynamic Range Mapping powered by TomTom, and the Recon becomes one of the most tech-forward adventure vehicles Jeep has ever built.
Price, Launch, and Availability
Starting at $65,000 (excluding destination), the 2026 Jeep Recon enters production early next year at the Toluca Assembly Plant. Initial availability begins in the U.S. and Canada, followed by global expansion.
Jeep’s Electrified Future
The 2026 Jeep Recon represents a monumental shift—not away from Jeep’s heritage, but toward its future. With trail-ready electric 4×4 capability, open-air freedom, modern technology, and unmistakable Jeep character, the Recon proves that electrification doesn’t dilute off-road performance—it enhances it.
